LA Family Housing Gets Bank Grant

North Hollywood-based LA Family Housing on Monday received a $7,000 grant from Sterling Bancorp Inc., according to a statement from the Michigan holding company. LA Family Housing is the largest homeless service provider and affordable housing developer in the San Fernando Valley. Last year, the organization helped nearly 11,000 people receive and retain housing. “Sterling Bank understands that homelessness is one of the most pressing issues in the Los Angeles area and the bank’s generous grant will support our efforts to implement and refine best practices to serve homeless men, women, children and youth throughout our region,” Stephanie Klasky-Garner, chief executive of LA Family Housing, said in a statement. “We look forward to partnering with Sterling Bank toward our mutual goal of improving the quality of life for underserved communities.” The grant is part of Sterling’s Anniversary Giving Campaign, which supports communities served by the bank. Sterling Bank and Trust, a subsidiary of Sterling Bancorp, operates six branches in the Los Angeles area.
