Chopra a Guru For Businesses

The entrepreneurial mindset took the stage at Built By You Conference 2019, an Aug. 8 event hosted by JPMorgan Chase & Co. About 1,000 attendees filled the Pasadena Convention Center for the conference, which featured talks by self-help author Deepak Chopra and “Shark Tank” co-star Daymond John. Chase Chief Marketing Officer Brent Reinhard hosted the presentations. Among the Valley businesses and owners in attendance: realtor Armine Ghevian with Keller Williams in Sherman Oaks; Fatima Bustos-Choy of Glendale-based Body & Brain Holistic Wellness; and former “American Idol” contestant and celebrity William Hung (“She Bangs”), representing the new book publisher Inspirational Publishing. Following Chase Business Banking Senior Vice President Jonathan Holmes, the Chopra Center for Wellbeing founder delivered a “fireside chat.” “Business is a story. What’s the best story you can tell?” Chopra asked, noting the importance of a positive outlook. “Happy people see opportunity where unhappy people see problems.” Employing a Gallup chart, he emphasized the six pillars of total well-being, covered by sleep, meditation, exercise/yoga, emotions, nutrition/nourishment and biological rhythms/grounding. “Success is the achievement of worthy goals and in touch with your soul,” Chopra said. He also led the exhibit hall in meditation.
