A World War II-style airplane crashed Tuesday afternoon on the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills.
The single-engine AT-6 aircraft with markings of the German Luftwaffe crashed into the center divider of the northbound 101 near Liberty Canyon Road. The pilot escaped with no injuries, according to the Daily News.
According to a tweet from Van Nuys Airport, the plane is from the Condor Squadron vintage flying club.
Lanes in both directions on the freeway were closed until further notice. Northbound traffic was diverted at Lost Hills Road while southbound traffic was diverted at Liberty Canyon, according to a tweet from the California Highway Patrol.
The cause of the crash was being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, the Daily News reported.
