Merkle Group Inc. is laying off 82 employees from the Burbank location of its digital marketing operations.

“The employee reductions in our Burbank office are a direct result of a discounted relationship with one client,” a Merkle spokesperson wrote in an email to the Business Journal. “We have no further comment to provide at this time.”

The layoffs at the office at 3900 W. Alameda Ave. are effective Dec. 31, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice filed with the state Employment Development Department.
