Capstone Turbine Corp. has selected Cal Microturbine as the company’s exclusive distributor for all vertical markets in California, Capstone announced Friday. The Van Nuys manufacturer of electricity-generated turbines noted that Bakersfield-based Cal Microturbine was founded solely to promote, sell and service Capstone equipment. The company has a history of selling Capstone turbines to the oil and gas industry. “Cal Microturbine has demonstrated the key characteristics and has the DNA required to become one of the largest and most successful Capstone distributors in the world,” Capstone Chief Executive Darren Jamison said in a statement. “Cal Microturbine has shown a tremendous willingness to work collaboratively with Capstone personnel.” Shares of Capstone (CPST) closed Friday down 1 cent, or less than a percent, to $1.37 on the Nasdaq.
