Frontier Communications Corp. will consolidate its Oxnard and Thousand Oaks operations into a new space in Thousand Oaks, according to the city of Thousand Oaks and the company.
Norwalk, Conn.-based Frontier has signed a 71,000-square-foot lease at The Arbors office park at 2560 Teller Road and has applied for a construction permit to do tenant improvements, the two entities said. Frontier said the move was part of its efforts to optimize business operations by better using space, reducing overhead costs and focusing on customer service.
About 350 employees will work at the new location, Frontier said.
“The new space is environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient construction that also provides Frontier and its employees the efficiencies of a multi-tenant business park,” said Javier Mendoza, director of public relations for Frontier. “Frontier is committed to our customers and the communities where we provide service. We are not moving out of the area or reducing our workforce.”
Frontier currently occupies a 115,600-square-foot building at 1800 Solar Drive in Oxnard and has notified the property owner it plans to leave at year’s end, according to Fred Ferro, a vice president with NAI Capital Inc., the building’s leasing agent. He said Verizon Communications Inc. occupied the building since 1994 and at peak employed more than 600 people there.
Frontier’s Thousand Oaks site is at 2535 W. Hillcrest Drive.
In April 2016, Frontier acquired the wireline operations of Verizon Communications, Inc. in California, Texas and Florida for $10.5 billion in cash and assumed debt. The company also offers video services under the FiOS brand in portions of California, Texas and Florida.
