Curt Castagna, chief executive of Aeroplex/Aerolease Group, has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Airport Commission. Castagna was nominated to the 10-member board by County Supervisor Janice Hahn to represent the fourth district. Aeroplex/Aerolease Group operates hangar and office space at Van Nuys Airport. Castagna also serves as president of the Van Nuys Airport Association that represents the major tenants at the San Fernando Valley airfield. The county airport commission advises the supervisors on the operation of five airports, including Whiteman Airport in Pacoima and General William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster. “I would like to express my appreciation to Supervisor Hahn for allowing me the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the airports serving the diverse aviation needs of the county of Los Angeles,” Castagna said in a prepared statement. “I look forward to collaborating with industry, business and community leaders to ensure the county airports are operated safely, securely and efficiently.”
