The Los Angeles-based U.S. subsidiary of Chinese electric vehicle and battery manufacturer BYD Co. Ltd. was recognized for its growth in the region and employing hundreds of workers at its Lancaster plant.

Macy Neshati, senior vice president of BYD, thanked the council for the honor.
