Semtech Sponsors Local Startup Weekend

Semtech Corp. in Camarillo is the technology sponsor of Startup Weekend Ventura County, scheduled to take place March 11-13. Participants will include programmers, application designers and entrepreneurs who will have 54 hours to create a connected application for use in health care or agricultural using long-range wireless technology developed by Semtech. Semtech’s technology is ideal for connecting to remote devices, said Chief Executive Mohan Maheswaran. “We are excited to participate in this entrepreneurial event and delighted to introduce our (Internet of Things)-enabling technology to the brightest developers and entrepreneurs in Southern California,” Maheswaran said in a prepared statement. Among those judging the connected apps will be Albert Guerra, chief marketing officer at Semtech; Ross Dueber, chief executive of micro-battery manufacturer ZPower, in Camarillo; and Chris Meissner, chief executive of Meissner Filtration Products, in Camarillo. Startup Weekend Ventura County will take place at Rancho Campana High School in Camarillo.
