Law firm Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie on Thursday announced that attorney Sal Wakil will join its Glendale office as an associate in the intellectual property practice group.

Wakil comes to the Phoenix-based firm with a biomedical engineering background and has experience in the fields of biotech research, medical devices, patent prosecution and trademark and copyright law.

During his time in biomedicine, Wakil designed clinical and preclinical trials for medical devices, managed U.S. Food and Drug Administration audits and was involved in other areas of drug and device development.

Earlier this year, Lewis Roca Rothgerber merged with Glendale-based Christie Parker & Hale to expand the joint entity’s intellectual property practice and improve patent litigation services.
