The former site of Orchard Supply Hardware in West Hills will become home to a new Chick-fil-A restaurant, according to an official from the West Hills Neighborhood Council.

Construction of the Atlanta-based fast food franchise is already taking place at the northeast corner of Fallbook Ave. and Victory Blvd., West Hills Neighborhood Council President Dan Brin said on Monday. Chick-fil-A will join apparel retailer Stein Mart on the property, which has been vacant since Orchard Supply Hardware closed their West Hills store in 2013.

While the new Stein Mart is slated to open sometime in 2017, an opening date for the Chick-fil-A has not yet been determined.

At the September meeting of the West Hills Neighborhood Council Zoning and Planning Committee, members will consider a request from the restaurant’s developers for a conditional use permit granting extended drive-through hours.
