Howard Goldberg is stepping down as president and chief operating officer of Interlink Electronics Inc. Goldberg will leave the Camarillo sensor technology company effective Sept. 30. He joined Interlink in February 2013 as executive vice president of corporate business development and strategic partnerships. He was promoted to chief operating officer in June 2013 and added the president’s title in September 2013. In the position, he oversaw the expansion of Interlink into Asia with the opening in February of Interlink Electronics Singapore Private Ltd., an R&D center. The company also announced it has hired John Sirbu as interim vice president of operations in Singapore. He has more than 20 years in executive leadership and manufacturing experience with Japanese, European and American companies. Chief Executive Steve Bronson, who will assume the positon of president, said Sirbu will lead the company to further growth in Asia. “The expansion of our manufacturing efforts in Shenzhen, China, require local executive leadership,” he said. “I believe that Mr. Sirbu’s extensive experience will greatly benefit the operations of Interlink’s Shenzhen manufacturing facility as well as the growth of our business. Shares were unchanged at $8.75 in over-the-counter trading.
