IHOP Opening in Guam

DineEquity Inc. announced it is opening three IHOP locations in Guam by 2018. The first is set to open later this year in Tamuning, one of the region’s largest shopping outlets. The Glendale restaurant operator of IHOP and Applebee’s chains signed an agreement with Pacific Pancakes LLC Tuesday. The overseas franchisor is an affiliate of Apple Pacific, which has plans to open the first of two Applebee’s locations in Guam this summer. “We are excited Pacific Pancakes has expanded their relationship with DineEquity and are looking forward to bringing both our brands to new guests in Guam,” said Daniel del Olmo, DineEquity’s president of international, in a statement. DineEquity has announced a series of deals in the last year to expand the IHOP brand internationally, including franchises in Kuwait, Bahrain and the Philippines. Shares of DineEquity closed up 40 cents or less than 1 percent to $80.43 in trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
