Briefs: Tutor Perini, PizzaRev

Shares of Tutor Perini Corp. popped more than 6 percent on Tuesday following the release of the company’s fourth-quarter and 2013 results. The Sylmar construction company reported net income of $33.3 million (68 cents a share) for the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared to $41.6 million (86 cents) for the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue fell 1.3 percent to $1 billion. For the full year, the company reported net income of $87.3 million ($1.80) compared to a loss of $265 million (-$5.59) for the previous year. Tutor Perini announced the results after market close on Monday. Shares closed up $1.49, or 6.5 percent, at $24.49 on the New York Stock Exchange. Studio City’s fast-casual pizza chain PizzaRev today added three executives as the company prepares for a national expansion. Monica Rutkowski, a public relations specialist with more than eight years of experience, joins as director of marketing and public relations. Rutkowski comes from Northbrook, Ill.-based Fishman PR, the largest U.S. public relations firm specialized in franchising. Ema Ikeda was named franchise development coordinator. She comes from the Encino-based frozen yogurt chain Menchie’s, where she served as the franchise development associate since 2011. Naz Moin will serve as director of human resources. She also joins PizzaRev after a stint at Menchie’s, where she was the director of franchise development and logistics for the past four years. PizzaRev has seven stores in California. It plans to open in 13 more locations, five of which are outside California in Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah.
