Briefs: AmaWaterways, Capstone

AmaWaterways announced on Thursday the addition of two vessels to its fleet, the AmaSerena and AmaVista, to its fleet. The Calabasas river cruise line’s two new ships will join their European sister ships – AmaReina, AmaPrima, AmaCerto and AmaSonata – for Danube, Main and Rhine sailings beginning next spring. The company did not disclose the cost of the ships, but the price tag on ships of similar size is about $30 million. Both of the ships will carry 164 passengers and feature the first-ever connecting staterooms, the company said. Destinations throughout Europe will include ports in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary, among other countries. With the two new cruising vessels, AmaWaterways’ fleet will boast 22 ships. Capstone Turbine Corp. has received orders for its microturbines to be installed at two sports centers in Russia. The Chatsworth alternative energy device manufacturer will provide C1000 and C65 microturbines capable of producing 5.5 megawatts of power for the Sochi Sports Center and Kislovodsk Sports Center, both in southern Russia. The microturbines will provide primary power for the center and the exhaust used to heat water for showers and laundry. Shares closed up 1 cent to $1.26 on the Nasdaq.
