Cheesecake Factory opened up a new Valley restaurant on Wednesday at the Westfield Topanga mall in Canoga Park. The 9,450-square-foot outlet, which can accommodate 260 guests, replaces the company’s original, smaller Warner Center restaurant on Canoga Avenue. The original restaurant opened in 1990 and was just the fourth by Cheesecake, which was founded in 1978. The company has been aggressively expanding in recent years. It is opening 22 restaurants in the Middle East and earlier this year announced it was entering the Latin American market. There are currently 165 restaurants under the Cheesecake Factory name, including one in Puerto Rico and three in the Middle East. Cheesecake also operates two bakeries, one in Calabasas and the other in North Carolina. Shares fell 15 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $44.44 on the Nasdaq.
