Film and television content app M-GO has added Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. to its lineup of studios providing material for purchase or rent. Among the titles the Santa Monica studio will provide to the Burbank-based entertainment platform are cable series “Mad Men,” “The Hunger Games,” and the “Twilight” film franchise. M-GO is a joint venture of Glendale’s studio DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. and Hollywood post-production and digital technology firm Technicolor, now owned by Technicolor S.A., a French firm based in suburban Paris. The platform was launched last year and provides content across a wide variety of platforms, from smart TVs to smart phones and tablet computers. The venture previously struck content deals with NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox & Warner Bros. and Relativity Media. Getting Lionsgate content was a priority, said M-GO Chief Executive John Batter. “We look forward to working with Lionsgate to lead the industry by pioneering new ways to maximize the benefits of digital,” said Batter in a prepared statement. Terms of the deal between M-GO and Lionsgate were not disclosed.
