Buffalo Wild Wings Invests in PizzaRev

PizzaRev, a small fast-growing San Fernando Valley restaurant chain that offers quick made-to-order pizzas, has received an investment from Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. The Minneapolis owner of the sports bar chain, which specializes in chicken wings, took a minority stake in the Studio City-based pizza chain. Financial details were not made public. PizzaRev is distinguished by a food-assembly operation similar to a Chipotle Mexican Grill and employs high-temperature fast-cook ovens. Each 11-inch pizza sells for a flat rate of $7.95. The chain was founded by former entertainment industry executives Irv Zuckerman and Rodney Eckerman and expanded to three locations within its first year in business. It operates outlets in Northridge, Studio City and Woodland Hills. “The PizzaRev team is thrilled to have Buffalo Wild Wings as an investor in our business, given its strong track record and stellar reputation within the industry,” said Eckerman, in a statement. Buffalo Wild Wings operates 900 restaurants, including franchises, in 49 states and Canada.
