CSUN Appoints Business School Dean

Kenneth R. Lord has been appointed dean of Cal State Northridge’s College of Business and Economics, the university announced on Monday. Lord comes to the school from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, where he held the position of associate dean of the Kania School of Management since 2006. He received his bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Utah and his doctorate from Ohio State University. He will assume the post on Aug. 1. “Dr. Lord brings with him an impressive breadth experience. We look forward to him continuing the success of the college,” said CSUN Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Harry Hellenbrand, in a prepared statement. An expert in the field of marketing with 25 years of experience, Lord will meet with alumni and community leaders as part of his new position. “It’s truly one of the exciting dimensions of the job. I look forward to being engaged as I come on board,” he said, in a prepared statement. Lord will take over from Judith Hennessey, who was appointed interim dean in December after longtime dean Bill Jennings left and later retired. The university conducted a nationwide search for a permanent replacement. The business school offers both undergraduate and graduate courses, including an MBA in business administration and an M.S. in accounting. – Rosie Downey
