Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. announced Tuesday that movie chain Southern Theatres LLC has selected Cinedigm software to centrally manage its operations in nine states.
The Woodland Hills digital movie equipment company will upgrade multiplexes with its Enterprise software program that allows management to centrally control movie scheduling and trailer screening. The software also handles box office auditing and film rental accruals payments.
Southern, headquartered in New Orleans, has 292 screens at 21 locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.
Dan Sherlock, president of Cinedigm Software, said the upgrade will “improve operational efficiencies via the combination of digital cinema and enterprise solutions.”
Shares of Cinedigm closed at $1.36, down 5 cents or nearly 4 percent, in trading on the Nasdaq.
