Keyes Automotive Switches Dealership

Keyes Automotive Group has shuttered its Woodland Hills Nissan dealership to make way for Hyundai. The Van Nuys dealership operator will open its new Hyundai on the three-acre site March 1 after renovations, said Howard Tenenbaum, vice president for Keyes. “It will be an extensive remodel,” he told the Business Journal. “It will certainly include some renovations to the (façade) as well as interior elements.” Keyes operated the Nissan dealership for about eight years, but the company decided to seek another Hyundai dealership given its success with the brand, he said. Keyes already operates two other Hyundai dealerships, one in Van Nuys and one in Mission Hills. After the closure, it no longer operates a Nissan dealership. “Nissan has great products, but we felt there were too many Nissan’s around the Valley,” said Tenenbaum. “Hyundai is a better partner for the Keyes Auto Group and we feel there’s a better growth opportunity for Hyundai in this market.” There are six Nissan dealerships in the greater Valley, including ones in Sherman Oaks and Simi Valley. Keyes operates 11 dealerships, all of which in the greater Valley.
