Briefs: Ixia, On Assignment

Ixia announced that it has completed its planned acquisition of Net Optics Inc., a network monitoring software company in Santa Clara. Ixia in Woodland Hills will incorporate Net Optics products with its existing line of networking programs to provide a more complete suite of network management solutions. The comprehensive package will help customers better protect their networks against increasing virtual threats. Ixia previously disclosed the cost of the acquisition at $190 million in cash. Shares of Ixia closed up $1.06 or 8.8 percent Friday to $13.07 in trading on the Nasdaq. On Assignment Inc. announced it has completes its planned acquisition of Cyber Coders Inc., CyberCoders Holdings Inc., a national permanent-placement recruiting firm in Irvine. The Calabasas temp and permanent specialty staffing company paid $94 million for Cyber Coders. “With CyberCoders as our newest division, On Assignment will be able to expand our activities in permanent placement staffing,” Chief Executive Peter Dameris said in a statement. “We will be able to better serve our customers with these expanded placement options.” Shares of On Assignment closed up 27 cents or less than 1 percent to $32.91 in trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
