Sexy Hair Study Breaks Down ’Dos

Product: Big Shine Chatsworth-based hair products company Sexy Hair recently released the results of a new study it commissioned this month, and discovered that many women are bucking long-held beliefs about which hairstyles are considered the most attractive. The study found, among other things, that while two in five women have pulled their hair back into a ponytail for a date, only 4 percent of women deem the style to be sexy. Seventy-seven percent of the more than 1,000 women polled by Wakefield Research said that they don’t feel like themselves if they are having a less-than-optimal hair day. “When women are feeling good about themselves that confidence pours over into every part of their day,” said Rafe Hardy, artistic creative director for Sexy Hair, in a prepared statement. “We want women to feel comfortable in the hair they were born with, but empowered to experiment with new styles and looks through the use of Sexy Hair’s versatile product lines.” Based on the results of the survey, the company is offering solutions based in their own products. Since 16 percent of women have worn buns on a date — even though only 2 percent find it the sexiest hairstyle — Hardy suggests making it sleek by piling it into a high sock bun and finishing it with Big Sexy Hair Big Shine spray. Sexy Hair products are distributed in more than 60,000 licensed salons worldwide and retail between $15 and $35. – Kelly Goff
