ProVision Interactive Technologies Inc. announced on Monday that it received $8 million from a backer to finance the installation of more than 1,000 of its 3-D holographic marketing kiosks in retail outlets.

Laguna Access Fund LLC will shoulder the cost of installing the kiosks, which project floating holographic videos without the need for glasses. The first of the kiosks are expected to be installed in the first quarter of 2013.

The deal will allow the company, a subsidiary of Provision Holding Inc. of Chatsworth, to install its product into high-traffic areas for a national retailer, said Provision Chief Executive Curt Thornton in a statement.

A spokeswoman for the company declined to disclose the retailer.

The kiosks can also dispense coupons and other promotional materials. Provision says the rollout will give it the largest such 3-D network in the country.
