motor city in the valley

No matter what kind of car you want it’s likely that Galpin Motors Inc. has one in stock. From the common-sense models of Ford and Honda, to the luxury and performance of Aston Martin, to the customized creations dreamed up at Galpin Auto Sports, the venerable San Fernando Valley business has it all when it comes to four-wheeled transportation. The business has been anchored by its flagship Ford store, a fixture on Roscoe Boulevard in North Hills since the mid-1960s. It’s the top-selling Ford dealership in the world by volume more than 20 years running. Galpin Motors has grown into a small city of showrooms, service bays, a restaurant, coffee café, and even a vault where an Aston Martin owner can pick up their car. Overeeing it all is another Valley fixture, Bert Boeckmann, who has enlisted his brother and sons into one of Southern California’s best-known family businesses. – Mark R.
