Internet Retailer to Move Fulfillment Facility Out of the Valley

Nasty Gal, Inc. a Los Angeles-based internet retailer of women’s apparel, is planning to relocate its fulfillment center in Arleta to a new space in Kentucky. The facility, which currently employs some 47 workers, is slated to close in July, according to a WARN notice this month. Company spokesperson Kaitlyn Nagy, said in an emailed statement the rapid growth the company has experienced makes it necessary to relocate its fulfillment center. “We value and respect our employees and trust they understand that we have made this decision with everyone’s best interest at hand,” Nagy said. The company is offering relocation assistance to its Arleta employees, she said. Founded in 2006, the web-only retailer specializes in selling trendy new and vintage clothing. According to Top 500 Guide, an online data source for internet retailers, Nasty Gal’s 2011 web sales jumped 180 percent to $28 million from $10 million in 2010.
