Homebuilder Lennar Corp. will hold a grand opening for its new Valencia community, which will include Lennar’s multigenerational model. The economic downturn pushed the homebuilder to build multigenerational homes as more college graduates moved home and older individuals saw their retirement funds decrease, Lennar said in a news release on May 1. Lennar said interest has been high in areas where multigenerational homes have already been introduced. The new homes, Lennar said, allow multiple generations to live in one house, but have separate living areas. “The opportunity for families to share a mortgage makes a lot of economic sense for many families,” Division President Greg McGuff said in a statement. Lexington at RiverVillage, which also includes normal single-family homes, is located at 22469 Flatwater Court in Valencia. The four to six bedroom homes range from 2,986 square feet to 3,820 sq. feet and prices start in the upper $500,000s, according to Lennar’s website.
