Cherokee Partners with Russian Retailer

Cherokee Inc., a Van Nuys-based fashion brand manager and marketer, today announced its partnership with Russian retailer Magnit. Magnit operates more than 5,000 convenience stores in 93 markets and also has 240 cosmetics stores throughout Russia. It generates some $11.5 billion in annual retail sales. The partnership includes the sale of Cherokee-branded products in Magnit stores including apparel for men, women, boys and girls. The agreement is a component of Cherokee’s global growth initiative which has also included a product launch with Japanese retailer Nishimatsuya Chain Co. Ltd. In a prepared statement, Cherokee’s CEO Henry Stupp said the company was confident that Magnit will be an exceptional brand partner. “Cherokee’s commitment to long-range strategic planning, quality product design and affordability, along with Magnit’s compelling growth will propel our product offerings to the forefront of the Russian retail landscape,” Stupp said.
