ReachLocal Inc., the marketing company that helps small and medium-sized businesses with their online marketing, announced it hired digital product veteran Kris Barton as its chief product officer.
Barton will be responsible for the development of new products, the optimization of ongoing core products and services, and further expansion into international markets.
Barton comes to the Woodland Hills company from Nero, a multimedia software company, where he served as chief operating officer overseeing new business development and ongoing operations. He has also held key product positions at Microsoft, overseeing the development of MSN.com and MSN network channels. Barton has a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and marketing communications from Brigham Young University.
“Kris brings to ReachLocal a deep understanding of digital product development and management, honed at very successful software companies including Microsoft,” Nathan Hanks, president of ReachLocal, said in a prepared statement. “His experience and leadership will help us execute on the product roadmap we have set out for 2012 and beyond.”
