Munchkin Inc., a North Hills-based designer and manufacturer of infant and toddler products, announced the launch of its Balanced Meal-themed plate and placemat.

The new products are designed to help parents educate their children about healthy eating habits.

The feeding tools feature colorful images and guidelines for correct portion sizes for fruits, vegetables, protein, grains and dairy based on the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

In a prepared statement Munchkin CEO, Steven Dunn said introducing tools that help children establish good eating habits has continued to make Munchkin a pioneer in the feeding category.

"We understand parents live busy lives and want to make it as easy as possible for them to teach their children about the importance of making healthful food choices," Dunn said.
