The board of directors the Visual Effects Society re-elected a veteran effects artist as its chairman in its Jan. 26 election of board officers.
Jeff Okun will serve his fourth one-year term for the Encino-based organization that represents visual effects artists worldwide. Okun is head of visual effects for Prana Studios in Los Angeles.
Okun said he is thrilled to focus on the society’s core mission of promoting visual effects and the artists who create them.
“I am equally thrilled to continue to push the VES 2.0 initiative forward – the initiative to reach out and bring all parties to the table to secure rights and benefits for our industry – across the board – in film, broadcast, special venue, commercials, games and animation,” Okun said in a prepared statement.
Others serving on the VES board include Michael Fink, first vice chair; Pam Hogarth, second vice chair; Bob Coleman, treasurer; and Kim Lavery, secretary.
