Encino-based Lewitt, Hackman, Shapiro, Marshall & Harlan has been named a top-ranked U.S. law firm by Fortune Magazine.

The business, real estate and civil litigation law firm was one of 26 firms in Los Angeles included on the list, according to a news release from Lewitt Hackman.

"We are very proud to be included in this list of the Top Law Firms in the country and we are particularly pleased that the number of our attorneys rated AV Preeminent significantly exceed the number required to be so honored,” Lewitt Hackman's managing shareholder, Keith T. Zimmet said in a statement.

Each firm selected to Fortune’s list has more than 21 attorneys, of which one-third or more must carry an AV Preeminent rating, the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell, which compiled the data for the list.
