The Valley Economic Development Center has been chosen as the north San Fernando Valley location of a new center sponsored by the City of Los Angeles to support small businesses and entrepreneurs.
The BusinessSource Center will be located at 13172 Van Nuys Blvd. in Pacoima. A grand opening for the center takes place on Feb. 16.
There will be six centers in the city, including a second Valley location in Panorama City operated by the ICON Community Development Corp. That location will open in early March, according to Deborah Helt, director of programs for ICON.
The centers are designed to help business owners navigate the city’s permitting and contracting processes. The Pacoima center will have an entrepreneurial training program and business consulting.
“We look forward to helping local businesses in the North Valley region with training, consulting, and access to capital,” said Bob Holguin, director of business services for VEDC. “We are excited about becoming partners in their efforts in the community and helping small businesses to reach their growth and sustainability objectives and ultimately create more jobs.”
The Panorama City location will offer similar services for small businesses.
