Hasbro Studios Consolidates Production

Hasbro Studios in Burbank has consolidated its television, film and short-from content creation under a new president. Stephen Davis will oversee feature films based on Hasbro toys and games, television operations in Burbank and a Rhode Island studio responsible for producing the company’s commercials and short-form content. Davis had previously been in charge of global television development and production at Hasbro Studios. He will report to John Frascotti, chief marketing officer for the studio’s parent, Hasbro Inc., a Pawtucket, R.I.-based toy and game manufacturer. Hasbro Studios produces programming for more than 170 countries, including on The Hub, a U.S. television network that is a joint venture between Hasbro Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc., headquartered in Silver Spring, Md. “We are in the early stages of unlocking the full power of Hasbro brands globally and this new group will capitalize on our talent and creativity on both coasts,” said Davis, in a prepared statement. “We are now in a tremendous position to expand our content and storytelling … across all screens around the world.” Among the recent movies based on Hasbro characters are the “Transformers” series of movies, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” and “Battleship.”
