Data storage provider DataDirect has appointed Pascal Barbolosi as its vice president, EMEA.

The Chatsworth-based company caters its data storage and processing solutions to high performance computing sectors. Barbolosi will be responsible for managing the company’s operations as its market grows to address business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Across Europe and around the world, DDN is positioned as a global pioneer and the market leader in massively scalable storage solutions that enable organizations to maximize the value of their information,” said Erwan Menard, Data Direct Network’s COO, in a prepared statement. “Now with presence in Paris, London, Dusseldorf, Dubai and the opening of our international headquarters in Dublin, we are confident that Pascal’s leadership and experience will further accelerate our regional Big Data leadership and move the company to the next level in EMEA.”

Barbolosi previously held the title of vice president, extreme computing, at Bull. Prior to that, he worked in senior positions at SGI for 15 years. He was named one of HPCWire’s “People to Watch in 2012.”
