Children’s Hospital Los Angeles recently added to its growing number of service facilities with a new outpatient facility in Valencia. “We have brought our expertise and our specialists from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to the Santa Clarita Valley and it’s something we have wanted to do for several years now,” said Richard D. Cordova, president and CEO of Children’s Hospital, in a prepared statement. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals, and its addition to the community is welcome news for some parents. “(The center) will help families like mine in Santa Clarita,” said Lisa Solis DeLong, the author of the book “Blood Brothers,” which told her story of raising two sons leukemia. The new center is staffed with 12 pediatric physicians and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Kelly Goff
