Strong sales of two of its game titles lifted revenues for video game publisher THQ Inc. above the forecast guidance for the fourth quarter.
Agoura Hills-based THQ expects to report sales of $160 million to $170 million for the quarter ending March 31. The company had previously set a revenue guidance of $130 million to $150 million for the quarter.
Beating the guidance forecast is good news for the beleaguered company that has struggled financially of late, restructured itself to focus on core console games and online distribution, and got out of the casual gaming business.
Contributing to beating the guidance forecast were continued strong sales of “Saint Row: The Third” released in November and slightly higher-than-expected sales of “UFC: Undisputed 3” released in February.
THQ will report its fourth quarter and fiscal 2012 earnings on May 15.
