EXECUTIVE SUMMARY / THE PACESETTER – National Banks serving the Valley

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This year’s List depicts 11 major national banks that have branches in the greater San Fernando Valley area. It is ranked by assets as of June 30, 2011. Although Bank of the West and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. are institutions headquartered in San Francisco, both are considered national banks because they have nationwide offices. New additions to this List include Boston Private Bank & Trust, and First- Citizens Bank & Trust Company. – By Marvin Vasquez THE PACESETTER JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., headquartered in New York, ranks at the top of the List with nearly $1.8 trillion in total assets. Led by President James Dimon, JPMorgan Chase Bank has 77 San Fernando Valley branches; it also has 5,476 offices nationwide. The total deposits amassed over $1.1 trillion, an increase of about 18 percent in last year’s near total of $970 billion. Its net income of over $5.5 billion dropped compared to 2010’s $6.7 billion; a decrease of about 16 percent.
