Sports Authority to Open New Location in Northridge Fashion Center

National sporting goods retailer, Sport’s Authority will be joining the lineup of tenants at Northridge Fashion Center next year. The 53,936-square foot store will fill the space previously occupied by Borders, which closed earlier this year after the company filed for bankruptcy. Sport’s Authority, known for its fitness products, equipment and apparel, currently has six locations in the Valley. The mall, which is home to over 170 retailers, has welcomed several new stores over the past month including My Fashion Club, Best Buy Mobile, Fanzz and National University. In a prepared statement, Daniyel Gordon, senior general manager for Northridge Fashion Center, said she believes the retailer will enhance customers’ shopping experience. “Sports Authority is going to be an incredible addition to Northridge Fashion Center-they are a dedicated retailer and industry leader in the marketplace,” Gordon said.
