Warner Bros. Adds to Digital Delivery

Warner Bros. Entertainment extended its strategy of making digital content available to viewers with the acquisition of Flixster. The acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, also includes the popular Rotten Tomatoes review and information website. Flixster will remain an independent operation of the Burbank-based entertainment company. Flixster accounts for 35 million downloads to date of movie discovery information to mobile devices, including the iPad, Blackberry and Android. Owning Flixtster will promote the ownership of digital content, which has become a central focus for Warner Bros., said Kevin Tsujihara, President, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group and Office of the President, Warner Bros. Entertainment. “We’re thrilled that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group shares our vision for how ‘anytime, anywhere’ digital entertainment can become an amazing user experience,” said Joe Greenstein, co-founder and CEO of Flixster. Mark R.
