Environment First for This Car System, Mileage Second

Dr. Derek Zupancic believes he’s on the road to a real solution to toxic vehicle emissions with his invention of the HydroLectric Power System (HH2). In production since 2008, the HH2TM system cleans vehicle exhaust emissions by changing water into hydrogen vapor in a small device to achieve complete fuel combustion inside a motor. There are no moving parts and it is user friendly. Zupancic said the system helps the vehicle run smoother, add power and increase fuel economy resulting in clean, safe non-toxic exhaust discharge with no odors. “Although there are several other types of hydrogen from water systems everywhere, most if not all, are explosive due to the combined hydrogen and oxygen gases they create. I was one of the very few to ever get a California Air Resources Board authorization to sell a mobile hydrogen on-board system for both gasoline and diesel vehicles,” Zupancic said. A typical installation averages $2,000. He also recommends servicing, cleaning and recharging the unit between 8,500 to 12,000 miles after installation. That costs about $100 to $200. Users are advised to check water levels on a weekly basis especially in warm weather after 400 to 700 miles and add a few ounces of distilled water. Zupancic’s background is in inventing and improving computer and external hard drive systems. He is an expert in the field of data recovery and owned Data Recovery LLC before starting Canoga Park-based HydroLectric Power LLC to manufacture the HH2. “Due to many years of working with automobile companies in drag racing and high performance vehicles, I became a combustion expert focusing on drag racing activities,” Zupancic said. “When combined with my computer work and vehicle combustion experiences, I knew the answer to exhaust pollution had to be inside the engine and not by attaching devices to the exhaust pipe like catalytic converters or filters.” Many of his customers have reported improved gas mileage from 10 percent to 40 percent with the HH2 installed, but Zupancic said he is not allowed to post fuel economy numbers. “Of course, city traffic is not as good when driving on the freeways at nominal speeds. Remember, this product was not invented as a fuel saving device, it was created to clean up exhaust emissions, and better mileage is just a bonus.” Reaching out Zupancic is actively seeking out financial and industry leaders to help him market to the general public. “The volume of vehicles that can benefit from this product is overwhelming. And we want to keep the product “made in the USA” so we can create jobs here in the country,” he said. He is working with Los Angeles officials, community colleges and job outlets to train installers. Zupancic wants to eventually create a franchise or licensing entity to be able to manufacture, warehouse, install and distribute the HH2 for mass production, not only for individual use, but for major commercial automotive markets. John Darnall believes Zupancic has found a simple and affordable answer to some important transportation issues. He installed the HH2 System in his 1995 GMC 2500 vehicle with a 454 cubic inch gas engine in order to reduce air pollution…and possibly increase gas mileage. Claims more mileage The system has not only reduced emissions, but he said the HH2 increased the mileage from around 9 miles to nearly 13 miles per gallon with an increase in power. He plans to install the system on the Mercury Grand Marquis family car. “I think the HH2 should be installed in every vehicle with a gas or diesel engine. When the population finds out how simple it is to convert to a hybrid, we may see the auto manufactures installing this product as standard equipment. I also think the public should invest in the company itself to speed up its expansion,” Darnall said. Ben Limbo agrees. “We learned about the HH2 system in the summer when I met Dr. Derek. After deciding to acquire a non-hybrid vehicle, we decided to try and see it for ourselves,” said Limbo of the studio division of Simply Hybrid rental cars corporate office. “Prior to this, we had no clue of what it looked like.” After seeing Zupancic’s HH2 Toyota Camry Hybrid, Limbo felt more comfortable to try the system and felt it was a great way to expand the company’s selection and be the first to have a rentable hydrogen-hybrid vehicle outside of the conventional electric-hybrid systems. “The decals we had installed definitely attract a lot of people. Whether we’re stopped at a traffic light or parked on the side of the road, we’re asked questions or shown amazement,” Limbo said.
