Premium casual eatery The Yard House will open a location at the Antelope Valley Mall in July. That the restaurant is opening in the city is another sign the economy is picking up, officials said. In the past six months, a new Macy’s has opened at the mall, the Fresco II restaurant relocated to the city, and the Palmdale Regional Medical Center opened. “Add to that the recent news of our third consecutive quarter of sales tax revenue increases over the previous year, and the conditions are ripe for this economy to really rev up,” Mayor Jim Ledford said. The Yard House features a menu of American fusion cuisine and one of the world’s largest selections of draft beer distributed through individual beer lines stretching from the keg room to the island bar to maintain a constant temperature of 34-36 degrees.
