Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market plans to open a new store in North Hollywood in the coming months, and company officials say the company is eyeing other Valley locations. The company is currently building a store at 12811 W. Sherman Way. Fresh & Easy is accepting applications for 25 positions at the new store, said Communications Director Brendan Wonnacott. He said about 300 people have been employed as a result of the construction project. Fresh & Easy is a chain of small convenience-focused discount food stores operating in California, Arizona and Nevada. Since its launch in 2007, the market chain has opened 176 stores. The company is building a presence within the Valley with established stores in Northridge, Van Nuys and Burbank. Fresh & Easy has its sights set on Sunland for the next location, Wonnacott said. Although other local sites are being considered at the moment, none have been confirmed at this time. “There’s a lot of opportunity in the area,” Wonnacott said. “It’s all about finding a neighborhood that wants affordable food.” — Angela Melero
