University’s adult evening degree program expands to Woodland Hills

California Lutheran University’s Adult Degree Evening Program will soon be available at its Woodland Hills campus, the university announced. Those interested in earning bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business management and organizational leadership can register for the classes, which start Aug. 30, according to a statement released by the university. Classes for the program will be held at the university’s Woodland Hills Center, which already offers graduate programs. The university has hired a full-time director, Gina La Monica, to oversee the expanded program starting June 21. The post replaces the program’s previous part-time director position, the statement said. Previously, La Monica directed the Project for Adult College Education at Los Angeles Mission College for 10 years and has helped other institutions develop similar programs. The Adult Degree Evening Program, designed for working adults age 25 and older, originally started in 1985 on the university’s main campus in Thousand Oaks before expanding to its Oxnard campus in 2006. The program went from having about 55 students when it started to having about 300 students now, according to the statement. It offers seven majors and online classes.
