Cherokee Inc. recently launched its Cherokee Brand in China with retailer RT Mart Stores, the Van Nuys-based global brand management company announced. RT Mart—a division of textile, retail and trade company Ruentex Industries Limited—operates more than 134 hypermarket stores, or large retail spaces that include both grocery and department store products. “We have launched the Cherokee Brand with much success and based on initial results, there is tremendous potential for category and product expansion,” said Peter Huang, RT Mart’s president and CEO. “In addition, as we continue with our plan to open more stores throughout China, Cherokee will become one of the larger family lifestyle brands in our country.” Fransisca Chang, Cherokee’s senior regional director, called RT Mart a premier retailer in China. “We are honored and excited to partner with such a great company as RT Mart and look forward to working closely with their teams to develop and grow the Cherokee brand throughout China,” Chang said.
