Inphi and Netlist in Patent Dispute

Inphi Corporation, a high-speed analog semiconductor company in Westlake Village, announced in a press release that it will “vigorously” defend itself in response to a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Irvine-based Netlist, Inc. Netlist claims Inphi’s newly developed isolation memory buffer integrated circuit infringes on its own patent. Inphi officials stated they have not received any communication from Netlist on the matter, nor have they been served with a complaint. Netlist filed its complaint on Sept. 22 in U.S. Central District of California, Western Division, according to a press release from Netlist. The Irvine-based company is seeking unspecified monetary damages and requests immediate and permanent action barring Inphi from making and selling the infringing product, and enjoining Inphi from inducing others to infringe any of the claims of the patent. Inphi claimed it has examined the patent in question and believes there is no infringement. Eric Billingsley
