Incentives may grow for renewable energy

TEHACHAPI – U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy has introduced legislation to extend federal tax credits for wind-generated electricity and other renewable energy, saying that a long-term plan is needed to make the renewable-energy industry more stable. McCarthy’s H.R. 1743, the Wind Incentives for a New Decade Energy Act, would extend the production tax credit through Jan. 1, 2020. The wind tax credit presently is due to expire in 2013, and the tax credit for geothermal, biomass and other renewable energy is due to expire in 2014. For the full story click here
