LANCASTER – It’s a cool morning, but each of the 24,000 skyward-pointing mirrors at a Lancaster construction site produces enough heat to make passersby shield their faces. That heat, when aimed at a set of boilers atop 200-foot towers, will produce five megawatts of electricity – enough to power up to 4,000 homes, according to eSolar, the company building this small solar-thermal power plant south of Avenue G.
