Income Drops in Q1 at AML

Defense contractor AML Communications Inc. experienced a drop in net income for the first quarter but expects improved results for the remainder of the year from increased bookings for its amplifier and integrated assemblies. The Camarillo-based manufacturer had net income of $92,000, or $0.01 per diluted share, on revenues of $3.4 million for the quarter ending June 30. For the same period a year ago, the company had net income of $451,000, or $0.04 per diluted share, on revenues of $3.3 million. The quarterly results do not reflect a $1.5 million order in June and a $2.2 million order in July, said AML President and Chief Executive Jacob Inbar. “These orders are being processed, and the financial impact is expected during the balance of the current fiscal year,” Inbar said. AML also finds itself positioned to receive contracts from major defense manufacturers as it fulfills a $30 million contract. Mark R. Madler
