The actuation division of Teleflex Aerospace received a contract to provide equipment for aircraft used in close support of ground forces. The Simi Valley-based division will begin delivery of the electromechanical actuators used for wing replacement of the A-10 to Boeing Co. in 2010 and continue and continue through 2016. If all A-10 aircraft are upgraded, Teleflex Actuation will provide 242 sets of actuators. The dollar amount of the contract was not disclosed. The A-10 is a twin engine aircraft providing day and night close air combat support for friendly land forces and to act as forward air controller to coordinate and direct friendly air forces in support of land forces.
